Brian talks with Sascha Segan from PCmag about his thoughts on Day 1 of Mobile World Congress. They start with Mark Zuckerberg’s appearance at the Samsung event and talking VR. They move to LG’s G5 and it’s capability of accepting accessories. Sascha mentions what he expects to see from Zuckerberg at his keynote at the end of day 1. They then tackle the mobile phone vendors becoming PC makers and the viability of that effort. Their conversation moves to the danger of becoming a Wall-E world with VR and then talk about the rise of regional vendors who are rising up in the mobile phone world. They finish with Sascha commenting on how nice it is that Apple isn’t winning this MWC by not showing up.
